MY FUTURE JOB

For a long time, I have known that as kick as I get my degree I'm going to work as an Archaeologist, at least for a while.  As it´s not a work in which I can have a consistent workflow it would allow me to search for jobs specifically for biological anthropologists in the meantime. Besides, I find that it would be the perfect mix of indoor and outdoor time. I´m not sure yet what my ideal job would be, as I'm still not sure what area of my discipline I enjoy the most. I would love to specialize and work in paleoanthropology, or maybe go the genetic route and work in a laboratory. The real dream would be to specialize in both!! If paleoanthropology is the answer I would have to travel to study abroad, and it would be a dream to work and study in Spain close to Sima de los huesos or to go to Africa, the whole continent really. I have never thought of a salary beyond one that allows me to eat and go to the doctor when I need to, I only know how much archaeologists make, but maybe in the future we biological anthropologist would be able to be head of archeological projects, time would tell.

My first day at work

  4. Hi Valentina, good that a job can motivate you so much, even since you graduated. I think it’s a good idea to specialize in two anthropologies.
